509 Van Buren Avenue will become the home of a new fine dining restaurant in early March.

Owner and executive chef, Brent furry will be assisted by chef Nathan Douglas to create a new, fresh, and local dining experience for Charleston and surrounding areas.

Furry is going to be purchasing produce from local farms and seafood from Chicago markets.

Furry says “I want it to be as local as can be. You can just taste the difference.”

Furry says he will name the restaurant after Alexander Briggs, the man who built the building; and design it with historical pictures from Briggs Grandson to incorporate history into the restaurant.

They are hoping this will be the first of many they will be opening in the community and surrounding cities.
